RF Engineering Technician

Responsibilities

• Assist in building test stations
• Perform Build Verification Testing
• Carry out Production Testing
• Resolve issues related to Viasat RF modules
• Collaborate with Test Engineers to address recurring test failures
• Create and resolve failure reports
• Calibrate test stations
• Develop and build cables and wiring harnesses
• Create and implement calibration and test procedures
• Test and resolve problems in Viasat hardware

Requirements

• 5+ years of RF technician experience, preferably in the government sector
• A degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent work experience
• A strong understanding of basic electronic concepts, including the ability to read and interpret schematics
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Self-directed, capable of working independently with minimal supervision
• US citizenship required for a government position
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
• Up to 10% travel

What Will Help You On The Job

• Experience with RF test, measurement, and calibration techniques
• Experience working in an engineering environment, particularly one with high levels of ambiguity
• Experience testing and resolving problems in RF amplifiers, LNAs, and Up/Down Converters
• Experience using test equipment such as signal generators, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, power meters, noise figure meters, oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, and thermal chambers/plates
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Pay

The salary range for this role is $32.21 - $50.96 per hour. For specific locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area, and New York City, the base pay range is $40.14 - $60.34 per hour. Additional incentives may be provided as part of the compensation package, along with a range of benefits designed to support your overall well-being.
