Revenue Cycle Quality and Training Coordinator

About the role

This position provides support to the system's facilities by advancing revenue cycle initiatives and delivering value-added support to revenue cycle leadership. Assignments and oversight come from Revenue Cycle Directors, department directors, and the VP of Revenue Cycle. The incumbent collaborates with revenue cycle leadership to develop and reinforce effective business practices across pre-registration, admitting, registration, health information management, billing, collections, and customer service. This role may be performed remotely or onsite based on organizational needs.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts quality audits and performs root cause analysis to identify opportunities to enhance performance; partners with leadership to execute improvement plans.
  • Evaluates upcoming projects to proactively identify training requirements and aids in planning and execution of the training plan.
  • Reviews and validates training materials prior to distribution to ensure that proper processes are outlined and easily followed by all potential users.
  • Aids in tracking key performance indicators at the department level, as well as conducting root cause analysis to determine the source of performance issues.
  • Assists in developing and administering revenue cycle training and education programs, as well as ongoing professional development opportunities such as internal certifications and career ladders.
  • Collaborates with various departments to map existing processes, conduct readiness assessments, develop approaches to effectively implement change, identify necessary resources, and complete projects.
  • Manages multiple projects simultaneously, keeping priorities aligned with overall organizational goals and initiatives.
  • Provides support for the development and execution of plans to improve policies, procedures, and systems throughout all revenue cycle departments.
  • Cultivates internal relationships at the corporate, facility, and departmental levels to gain support and participation in revenue cycle initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma – Required.
  • Process improvement training required: Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt – Required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree – Preferred.
  • 5 years of revenue cycle operations experience – Required.
  • 3 years of revenue cycle management experience – Required.
  • Proven success in conceiving, planning, and leading successful process improvement initiatives – Required.
  • Must be able to travel between various system facilities and off-site locations as needed – Required.
