Revenue Cycle Management Analyst I (Onsite, Hybrid, Remote)
About the Role
The Revenue Cycle Management Analyst I is responsible for the management and monitoring of revenue, charges, and revenue cycle internal and external customers to ensure established goals are met while adhering to federal and state regulations, policies of external payers, coding rules, and guidelines. This role involves exercising independent decisions using analytical and problem-solving skills and providing critical analytical and negotiation support regarding third-party payer reimbursement contracts.
You will work closely with analysts in other Revenue Cycle Management departments to ensure effective workflow and process, maintain a strong working knowledge of operational policies and procedures related to accounts receivable management, and evaluate, recommend, and assist with the implementation of systems solutions to enhance automation.
Additional responsibilities include performing audits to ensure integrity, quality, and control over billing processes, and assisting with training and education on information systems functionality and billing and coding practices.
Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor revenue, charges, and revenue cycle customers to meet established goals.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, external payer policies, and coding guidelines.
- Provide analytical and negotiation support for third-party payer reimbursement contracts.
- Collaborate with other Revenue Cycle Management departments to optimize workflow and processes.
- Maintain knowledge of accounts receivable management policies and procedures.
- Evaluate, recommend, and assist in implementing systems solutions to enhance automation.
- Perform audits to ensure billing process integrity, quality, and control.
- Assist with training and education on information systems functionality and billing/coding practices.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, computer sciences/software development, finance/business, math, or a related field requiring complex data analysis from an accredited university or college.
- In lieu of a specified major, a bachelor’s degree in any field plus 3 years of directly related experience in revenue cycle reporting or healthcare finance reporting and analytics.
- HFMA Certified Revenue Cycle Rep. (CRCR) certification must be obtained within nine months of hire.
- Experience with database reporting and interfaces.
- Proficiency in SQL preferred.
- Strong knowledge of MS Office applications, especially Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access.
- Knowledge of internet and government websites.

- Knowledge of key data elements (CPT, HCPCS, Rev Codes) and their flow within the Charge Master and related files.
- Knowledge of claims processing, remittance data, Medicare regulations, APCs, and other payment methodologies.
Basic Skill Requirements
Expected at Hire:
- Clear and effective communication (listening, speaking, writing).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, and Word.
- PC literacy, including accessing bulletin boards, eligibility files, websites, and shared network drives.
- Ability to copy and paste from host systems to documents.
- Ability to relate cordially with coworkers, employers, patients, providers, and others.
To Be Learned Within 90 Days:
- Knowledge of NorthBay’s computerized financial and clinical systems.
- Understanding of NorthBay’s departments and programs.
- Familiarity with billing policies and procedures related to revenue integrity.
- Knowledge of revenue cycle management, data development, and interpretation.
Pay
$34 to $41 per hour, based on years of experience in the role.
Schedule
8 hours per day. Consistent attendance and adherence to agreed-upon work hours are required.
Work Location
This position may be performed onsite or remotely, with a preference for onsite work based on business needs. Preference will be given to candidates who can work onsite and are within a reasonable commuting distance.
Remote work is open to candidates located within the continental United States, excluding Washington, Ohio, Wyoming, North Dakota, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands due to state-specific employment and workers’ compensation regulations.

Compensation Structure
NorthBay Health uses a structured compensation framework. Staff-level positions follow a step-based system (Steps 1–5) based on years of directly related experience, with Step 5 representing 20 or more years in the role. Manager-level and above positions receive a fixed annual base salary and are eligible for a variable incentive compensation plan. Physician compensation is structured based on specialty and role requirements.
