Position Purpose & Summary

The Retail Supervisor at Garden of the Gods Resort and Club plays a crucial role in delivering an elevated luxury retail experience that aligns with the resort's "Enriching by Nature" philosophy. This leadership position oversees daily retail operations, inspires team performance, and ensures every guest and member interaction reflects the resort's high standards.

Essential Functions

  • Oversee daily retail operations and inventory purchasing to ensure adherence to established procedures, luxury service standards, and brand presentation guidelines.
  • Supervise and execute opening and closing procedures with accuracy and accountability.
  • Guide associates to effective and suggestive selling techniques that feel curated and service-oriented rather than transactional.
  • Ensure the retail outlets maintain impeccable presentation, cleanliness, and visual merchandising standards consistent with a luxury resort environment.
  • Oversee merchandising execution, including displays, product placement, seasonal transitions, tagging, and inventory accuracy.
  • Maintain inventory levels and conduct regular counts to ensure product availability and minimize discrepancies.
  • Oversee all cash-handling functions, including POS system management, reconciliations, and daily reporting with strict accuracy.
  • Confidently address member and guest concerns using the LEARN Model and empower team members to recover service opportunities seamlessly.
  • Serve as a knowledgeable ambassador of Garden of the Gods Resort and Club by answering questions about the club, resort amenities, and daily activities.
  • Ensure cross-departmental communication remains proactive, polished, and aligned with resort-wide service excellence.

Additional Duties And Responsibilities

  • Supervise, coach, and mentor retail associates to cultivate a culture of excellence and accountability.
  • Conduct ongoing training focused on luxury service delivery, product knowledge, and elevated sales techniques.
  • Provide constructive feedback and participate in one-on-one coaching sessions to support professional growth.
  • Support scheduling to align staffing levels with occupancy, events, and seasonal demand.
  • Greet every guest, member, and team member with "I Am Proud" standards and set a positive tone for every interaction.
  • Provide extraordinary service that is "Enriching by Nature."
  • Uphold the Garden of the Gods Resort and Club's brand, culture, vision, mission, and values.
  • Be empowered to make things go right if they go wrong.
  • Give the guest/member a fond farewell.
  • Address feedback by utilizing the LEARN Model.
  • Demonstrate a professional appearance and be attentive to what matters most.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Observe and adhere to safety guidelines.

Position Requirements

  • High School education or equivalent; additional hospitality or retail leadership experience preferred.
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules, including weekends, evenings, and holidays based on resort demand.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills with close attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in basic math and POS systems.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with members, guests, and cross-departmental teams.
  • Enthusiastic, poised, and service-driven leadership style reflective of a luxury resort environment.
  • Minimum of 1–3 years of retail experience, with prior supervisory experience in a luxury or hospitality setting strongly preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • CPR Certification.
  • Food Protection Manager Certification.
  • Food Handler Certification.
  • Alcohol Server/Seller Certification.

  • Interface positively with other departments, helping when needed.
  • Displays care in the use of equipment and maintains an organized and professional work environment.

External And Internal Personal Contact Communications

  • Daily – Written and Verbal

  • Occasionally – Participate in one-on-one coaching sessions.

Teamwork And Collaboration
