Retail Supervisor

East Coast Cannabis is seeking a Retail Supervisor to support daily retail operations, guide Retail Associates on the sales floor, and help deliver exceptional, compliant customer experiences. This role plays a key leadership presence during operating hours, supporting store flow, sales performance, and team engagement while adhering to Maine Adult Use regulations and ECC best practices. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who enjoys working with others, staying customer-facing, and stepping in as the point of leadership when managers are unavailable. Key Responsibilities Store Leadership & Operations Open and close the retail store following the Manager Opening and Closing checklistAct as the on-site store leader when Assistant Retail Managers or the Store Manager are not availableSupport Retail Associates during operating hours to ensure smooth customer flow and effective sales interactionsUphold ECC security standards and operational protocols Customer Experience & Sales Support Assist with high-touch customer interactions and transaction processingReinforce store sales goals as directed by the Retail ManagerProvide knowledgeable, compliant product recommendationsServe as a resource for Retail Associates on sales techniques, product knowledge, and brand standards Product & Cannabis Knowledge Maintain strong working knowledge of all retail products and accurately represent them in alignment with ECC brand standardsDemonstrate cannabis knowledge including industry trends, local regulations, testing standards, and manufacturing methodologiesShare product and cannabis education with team members to support confidence and compliance Inventory & Merchandising Receive cannabis and non-cannabis inventory following ECC inventory receipt protocolsPerform basic inventory management, including daily counts and reconciliationMaintain organized inventory storage, handling, and movementMerchandise and zone store inventory to maintain visual and brand standards Cash Handling & Administrative Tasks Perform accurate cash handling, register counts, and transaction processingAssist with basic updates to in-house menus, displays, and printed materials Qualifications Education High school diploma or equivalent requiredSome college prefered Bachelor’s degree preferred Experience Minimum of 3 years customer service experience requiredRetail, sales, or restaurant experience requiredCannabis industry experience preferredProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required Position-Specific Skills Ability to clearly communicate product specificationsStrong retail sales and customer engagement skillsAbility to work toward and support staged sales goalsAbility to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strict compliance accuracyDemonstrated leadership and sound judgment Personal Characteristics Approachable, outgoing, and customer-focusedTeam-oriented with a supportive leadership styleComfortable coaching and guiding peers on the sales floor Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periodsAbility to lift up to 50 lbs Schedule & Compensation Full-Time position Must be available for opening and closing shifts, nights, weekends, and holidaysRetail operating hours: 7:00 AM – 9:30 PMBonus Perk: Join the team and earn a $500 sign-on bonus after 90 days, plus enjoy one of the most generous employee discount programs in the state.
