As the Store Manager I or II, you will have a hands-on opportunity to develop supervisory experience and skills while managing the overall operations at a low or lower complexity store. You will learn how to drive success, gain expertise and a clear understanding of the business operations, and create and develop great teams. The role requires performing all functions normally performed by a store team member while owning your business in driving sales, modeling service excellence, and delivering operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and model FedEx Office values to customers and team members.
  • Coach and teach your team to ensure they have the tools and information needed to support company goals.
  • Work with your supervisor to create solutions for your business, complex customers, host partnerships, and commercial sales.
  • Ensure an exceptional store experience that engages and retains customers and team members.
  • Use FedEx Office tools and resources to select, train, develop, retain, and performance-manage your direct reports.
  • Interact with your supervisor to seek guidance, coaching, and direction, and escalate issues as needed.
  • Execute all operational and store sales activities to exceed financial and customer experience targets.
  • Accomplish daily job duties including accounts receivable, inventory reports, daily sales recaps, and bank deposits.
  • Take ownership of store controls such as Standard Operating Procedures, financials, safety, security, scheduling, and compliance with laws.
  • Utilize Quality Improvement tools to improve the business, share ideas, and innovate.
  • Be flexible with your schedule based on business needs and store operating hours.
  • Perform all other duties as needed or required.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree or some college preferred; high school degree or GED required.
  • 2+ years of related experience (e.g., retail, service, hospitality, military); prior supervisory experience preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.

Essential Functions

  • Ability to work alone in the store at times.
  • Ability to stand during entire shift, excluding meal and rest periods.
  • Ability to move and lift 55 pounds.
  • Ability to bend/twist at the waist and knees on a consistent basis.
  • Ability to travel as required for business necessities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and team members.
  • Ability to perform work activities requiring cooperation and instruction on a consistent basis.
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities.
  • Ability to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to report regularly to work and maintain established business hours.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Quality Driven Management to deliver market-leading customer experience and business excellence.
  • Ability to suggest areas for improvement in internal processes and optimize profitability.
  • Application of Quality concepts in daily activities.
  • Support for FedEx Office Quality initiatives.
