About the role
We're a driven and supportive team focused on revolutionizing the sales and marketing strategies within the home improvement retail industry. Our mission is to elevate the roofing category to new heights. As a key contributor to our growth strategy, you will play a pivotal role in driving sales and profitability for key accounts, including both new and existing contractors. Additionally, you will be responsible for fostering strong relationships with our large national retail partners to ensure long-term success.
Responsibilities
- Analyze performance to identify successes, areas for improvement, and strategic opportunities to help clients stay ahead of competitors.
- Know when to follow client requests and when to guide them toward better decisions.
- Possess the ability to prospect, own, and develop leads through the sales funnel, turning potential Contractor opportunities into wins, through value-selling the benefits of GAF products, tools & resources.
- Overcome objections and convert hurdles into growth opportunities, while selling the GAF value proposition.
- Educate customers on products and market trends through meetings and store visits.
- Communicate complex topics (like market conditions) in a clear and professional manner.
- Work with Retail Outside selling teams to establish trust and support as the expert in roofing when working with them or their customers on large projects.
- Build instant rapport with clients through strong communication and diplomacy.
- Hone your skills with strong negotiating tactics, leveraging value propositions to position our clients as industry leaders.
- The Field Sales Representative will train individuals or small groups within the Big Box stores (Home Depot & Lowe’s) with an emphasis on general product knowledge, application techniques, and best practices.
- Utilize Salesforce and Tableau to compile insightful reports to strategize next steps, identifying opportunities to go above and beyond.
- Become a trusted advisor by continuously networking, both with existing customers and potential new ones. Build strong relationships with contractors and customers, becoming their go-to advisor.
- Thrive in an environment where your problem-solving skills lead to favorable outcomes.
- Develop meaningful relationships with a wide network, from in-store retail management teams to contractors, becoming their go-to consultant.
Qualifications
- H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required.
- Bachelor’s Degree Preferred.
- Experience: 1+ years of customer facing experience and proficient in building strong relationships with various stakeholders.
- Skills: Proven time management abilities; exceptional written, organization, communication & presentation skills; proficient in Google Suite and MS Office.
- Attributes: Highly motivated, independent, and possessing a strong desire for advancement within roofing sales.
- Travel & Mobility: Ability to travel daily within your assigned territory. We will provide you with a company vehicle. Some overnight travel required, varying by region.
- Valid driver’s license required.
