Essential Responsibilities
- Aid customers with frame and lens selection.
- Provide accurate product information about frames, lenses, and other services.
- Inform customers about benefits under third-party insurance and assist with appropriate frame and lens choices.
- Discuss frames and lens extras and options, and inform customers about additional charges not covered by insurance.
- Analyze and interpret patients' prescriptions.
- Sell, fit, and dispense frames and other accessories.
- Maintain a clean and orderly dispensing area.
- Ensure the accuracy of patient pricing.
- Communicate with the laboratory and optometrist to ensure prescription accuracy.
- Meet education and experience requirements to become a licensed optician within the state's mandated timeframe.
- Adhere to privacy and confidentiality policies and procedures (HIPAA).
- Participate in training and educational activities as needed.
- Diligently maintain cleanliness of all equipment, workstations, and the facility.
- Complete additional responsibilities as required by changing business needs.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current New York or Massachusetts Apprentice permit to practice.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers, talk, hear, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

- All Associates must comply with HIPAA as it pertains to PHI disclosures.

Compensation
- Competitive pay and benefits.
- Starting pay may vary based on experience, with a minimum of $20 per hour and a maximum of $30 per hour.
- Incentive pay, wage upgrades, and overtime opportunities also available.
