Position Overview
As a Campus Store Manager, you will lead all aspects of store operations, driving results through sales growth while maintaining high levels of brand and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Drive Results/Sales:
- Execute operating plans and daily operations for both traditional and rush periods.
- Manage sales promotions, special events, book signings, and merchandise displays.
- Collaborate with course materials leadership on in-store activities.
- Review and approve store markups, markdowns, and write-offs.
- Ensure store financials are reviewed and adjusted to drive sales.
- Manage store shrinkage within budget.
- Ensure store security and safety.
- Campus Relationships:
- Facilitate campus and community events.
- Communicate with campus stakeholders, including faculty, staff, administrators, vendors, and One Team Center staff.
- Participate in strategic partnership reviews.
- Engage with the campus community.
- Represent the store on bookstore advisory committees.
- Talent Management:
- Develop cross-functional teams with the ability to execute initiatives and drive operational standards.
- Maintain a culture of accountability through effective performance management.
- Recruit, train, coach, and develop all team members.
- Customer Service:
- Create and maintain an engaging customer service culture.
- Build relationships with customers, faculty, staff, administrators, vendors, and One Team Center staff.
- Handle routine inquiries and escalate complaints.
- Ensure the store is neat, clean, and orderly.
- Oversee a café or convenience store, ensuring compliance with health and food safety regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent.
- 3-5 years of retail management or strong customer service experience.
- General Computer Skills.
- Academic retail experience is a plus.
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Vital customer service, communication, and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical skills and financial acumen.
- Advanced relationship building, ability to influence a team, and customer outreach.
- Travel: minimal - less than 10%.
