About the Role
The Retail Internet Used Firearms Specialist is responsible for creating accurate descriptions and capturing high-quality images of the store’s selection of used firearms. This role uploads descriptions and photographs to the used firearm online website, maintains up-to-date inventories, and assists in sales through customer interactions via email, mail, telephone, and in-person contact.
Responsibilities
- Create and upload accurate descriptions and high-quality images of used firearms.
- Maintain a high-quality, up-to-date online inventory by adding and deleting firearms as they are acquired, disposed of, or transferred.
- Evaluate and purchase used firearms, ensuring proper entry into the bound book and correct payment to customers.
- Initiate 4473 forms with customers and conduct final checks of all applicable company, state, and federal forms before transferring firearms.
- Assist in used firearm sales through customer interactions via email, mail, telephone, and personal contact, providing legendary customer service.
- Process firearms transactions efficiently and in compliance with internal policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
- Produce monthly sales audit reports for used firearms online activities.
- Acquire firearms legally in accordance with ATF, state, and local laws, including completing required forms, conducting background checks, and ensuring compliance with waiting periods or other state requirements.
- Assist with the acquisition, receipt, and preparation of firearms for retail sale, including safely checking/clearing firearms, mounting optics, and completing company forms.
- Evaluate and appraise used firearms using historical knowledge and resources.
- Handle customer issues using good judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Maintain visual standards, including restocking, remerchandising, cleaning fixtures, and general housekeeping.
- Participate in ongoing training, including firearms and shooting product information, compliance training, and selling skills.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent experience.
- 0-2 years of experience.
- Must be 21 years of age.
Skills
- Ability to safely handle firearms and adhere to all company, state, and federal regulations.
- Provide legendary customer service by assisting customers in finding merchandise and making buying decisions.
- Operate a camera and computer to upload photos and maintain descriptions.
- Knowledge of purchasing firearms, either through industry experience or personal collecting.
Physical Requirements
- Constantly remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.

- Constantly repeat motions involving wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
- Occasionally operate machinery and/or power tools.
- Occasionally ascend or descend ladders, stairs, or ramps.
- Occasionally work in tight and confined spaces.
- Light work involving moving objects up to 20 pounds; occasionally lift and move objects weighing 100 pounds or more (utilizing a team lift as needed).
