About the role

The Lead at DICK’S Sporting Goods plays a critical role in executing brand standards and enhancing the teammate experience. They are the in-store expert of their business/departments, focusing on delivering exceptional service and guiding teammates.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the in-store expert, ensuring brand standards are met and programs/processes are executed daily.
  • Leverages teammates to meet brand standards, execute daily tasks, and delegate based on priority.
  • Supports building and hiring a strong team by observing interviews and department tours, and connects with every teammate to foster a positive culture.
  • Plans and organizes the store's operations 30 days out, aligning on necessary workforce and executing daily assignments, game plans, projects, or store events.
  • Assists in training teammates on company procedures and programs, including onboarding new employees and cross-training current ones.
  • Leads by example, prioritizing self and others' development, and provides hands-on coaching that explains the "why" behind tasks, plans, and processes.
  • Maintains an inclusive store environment where everyone feels welcome and safe, adhering to confidentiality policies and supporting the team across the store.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Prior retail sales experience (or customer-focused experience) preferred.
  • Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and lift up to 35 lbs. items repetitively (up to 25 times per hour).
  • Ability to work extended periods (up to 4 hours) standing or walking.
  • Ability to work at heights greater than 4 feet with the use of a ladder, aerial lifting device, or platform.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions for short periods (up to 2 hours continuously).

Pay

Targeted Pay Range: $18.00 - $26.00. Starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, location, experience, and position offered.
