About the role
The Key Carrying Lead at DICK’S Sporting Goods plays a crucial role in ensuring brand standards are met and teammates receive excellent service. This position requires a strong understanding of the business and department, as well as the ability to lead by example and collaborate effectively with teammates.
Responsibilities
- Delivers the best service to customers and provides direction to teammates.
- Leverages teammates to ensure brand standards are met and programs/processes are executed daily.
- Assists in building and hiring a strong team by observing in-store interviews and department tours.
- Strategically manages the workforce to execute daily assignments, game plans, projects, or store events.
- Supports the store leadership team with general supervision, including opening and closing the store, performing Front End and Cash Office functions, and processing firearms sales in compliance with State and Federal regulations.
- Maintains company merchandising and presentation standards, adhering to established floor sets, signage requirements, price changes, inventory presentation and replenishment standards, etc.
- Trains teammates on company procedures and programs, including onboarding new teammates and cross-training current teammates.
- Maintains company loss prevention standards and controls in their department.
- Leads by example to support the vision of the organization and store, helping teammates understand how their responsibilities align with the common purpose and delivering an exceptional shopping experience.
- Maintains an inclusive store environment where everyone feels welcome and safe and is treated with respect.
- Adheres to established policies and procedures related to safety, loss prevention, and standard operating procedures.
- Maintains confidentiality of all Company information.
- Supports the team across the store with an all-hands-on-deck approach.
Requirements
- Prior retail sales experience (or customer-focused experience) preferred.
- Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and lift up to 35 lbs. items repetitively (up to 25 times per hour).
- Ability to work extended periods of time (up to 4 hours) standing or walking.
- Ability to work at heights greater than 4 feet with the use of a ladder, aerial lifting device, or platform.
- Ability to perform repetitive motions for short periods of time (up to 2 hours continuously).
