About the role
The Lead at DICK’S Sporting Goods plays a critical role in executing brand standards and enhancing the teammate experience. They are the in-store expert of their business/departments, focusing on delivering exceptional service and guiding teammates.
Responsibilities
- Supports building and hiring a strong team by observing in-store interviews and department tours.
- Builds a people-first culture by connecting with every teammate to foster mutual trust, respect, and strong store recognition.
- Plans, organizes, and controls the store's operations 30 days out, including developing an effective approach and aligning on necessary workforce.
- Strategically leverages teammates to ensure brand standards are met, programs and processes are executed daily, and tasks are delegated based on priority.
- Upholds company merchandising and presentation standards by following established guidelines and maintaining inventory.
- Assists the store leadership team with general supervision, training teammates on company procedures and programs, and providing hands-on coaching.
- Creates an inclusive store environment where everyone feels welcome and safe, adhering to confidentiality policies and loss prevention procedures.
- Performs other tasks as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Prior retail sales experience (or customer-focused experience) preferred.
- Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and lift up to 35 lbs. items repetitively (up to 25 times per hour).
- Ability to work extended periods of time (up to 4 hours) standing or walking.
- Ability to work at heights greater than 4 feet with the use of a ladder, aerial lifting device, or platform.
- Ability to perform repetitive motions for short periods of time (up to 2 hours continuously).
