The Retail Store Supervisor role at Office Depot is a full-time position focused on delivering comprehensive solutions to customers across Technology, Services, Furniture, and Print offerings. This role emphasizes building and maintaining customer relationships, driving sales, and fostering a customer-centric environment aligned with Office Depot’s 5C values: Caring, Committed, Creative, Collaborative, & Courageous. The Store Supervisor also trains associates on Technology products, selling techniques, and services while supporting operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Foster a culture of trust, brand loyalty, and exceptional client service delivery.
  • Utilize Office Depot’s selling program to promote solutions and additional products/services.
  • Maintain awareness of planned advertisements and promotions.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by educating customers about Office Depot products and services.
  • Evaluate customer needs to determine total solutions and coordinate appropriate service engagement.
  • Provide guidance, direction, and ongoing training to store associates, including Print Services associates.
  • Facilitate training sessions on the business model and holistic service offerings.
  • Observe, coach, and provide feedback to enhance associate proficiency and build brand loyalty.
  • Process merchandise accurately and efficiently, adhering to procedures, deadlines, and visual merchandising standards.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement plans to reduce waste and inefficiencies.
  • Ensure regular loss prevention compliance and assist the General Manager in coaching associates for improved performance.
  • Contribute to increasing sales and profitability through conversion, Average Order Value (AOV), and customer satisfaction initiatives.
  • Maintain the safety and security of the building and associates during the absence of other managers.
  • Perform opening and closing responsibilities, including alarm system activation/deactivation, cash handling, and daily store balancing.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; coursework in Business, Retail Management, or related field a plus.
  • 1–3 years of related experience; retail, sales, customer-facing, and/or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Knowledgeable in Technology and Print, including use of relevant equipment and POS systems.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays.
  • Must be able to perform External Key Carrier responsibilities, including opening and closing duties.
  • Essential functions may require consent to periodic comprehensive background checks.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $22.00/hr to $25.00/hr, with adjustments to comply with all state and local minimum wage requirements.
