About the role

The Retail Store Supervisor role at Office Depot is a full-time position focused on providing comprehensive solutions across Technology, Services, Furniture, and Print offerings. This role involves building and maintaining customer relationships, becoming a trusted advisor, and driving sales of Office Depot's complete range of products and services.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Foster a culture of trust, brand loyalty, and exceptional customer service.
  • Utilize and understand the selling program to promote the sale of the best solution and additional product/service solutions.
  • Educate customers about Office Depot products and services.
  • Request assistance and coordinate service and customer engagement throughout the store.
  • Evaluate customer needs to determine the total solution.
  • Provide guidance, direction, and ongoing training to store associates, including Print Services associates.
  • Facilitate training sessions on the business model and the holistic service offering for clients/customers.
  • Observe, coach, and provide feedback to enhance associate proficiency and build a culture of trust and brand loyalty.
  • Provide feedback to the General Manager regarding store associates' performance, certification(s), and competencies.
  • Support operational efficiency by processing merchandise accurately and efficiently, adhering to established procedures, deadlines, and visual merchandising standards.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement plans to reduce waste and inefficiencies.
  • Contribute to increasing sales and profitability through conversion, Average Order Value (AOV), and customer satisfaction improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain the safety and security of the building and associates during the absence of other managers.
  • Perform opening and closing responsibilities, including activation and deactivation of the store's alarm system, cash handling, and daily store balancing.
  • Assist the General Manager in providing guidance and effective coaching to associates for improved performance.

Education & Experience

  • A high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Coursework in Business, Retail Management, or related field a plus.
  • 1-3 years related experience, including retail, sales, customer-facing, and supervisory experience.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong selling, interpersonal, and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and train others.
  • Works well independently and as part of a team.
  • Comfortable using technology and systems to complete daily responsibilities.
  • Demonstrates problem-solving, conflict management, time management, and business acumen.
  • Drives for results, directs others effectively, makes sound decisions, and collaborates well.
  • Adaptable, accountable, and able to maintain open availability.

Pay, Benefits & Work Schedule

The salary range for this role is $20.00 to $23.00, however all state and local minimum wages will be complied with, resulting in a possible adjustment to the salary range displayed.
