Retail Front End Department Head

About the role
The Front-End Dept Head (FEDH) is primarily responsible for delivering the best possible Customer experience in the store through our Club Services Desk and Front-End experience. Key responsibilities include the consistent implementation of the Experience Game Plan, execution of product conversion processes, precise handling of store returns and checkouts, service-related processes, and adherence to Company Merchandise Standards.
Responsibilities
- Support and oversee all Club Services and Front-End operations.
- Act as the expert of the assigned department(s) by providing valuable input into operational and merchandising decisions to drive sales and elevate the Customer experience.
- Execute the role of a Starter (greeter) when not actively engaged in supporting Services or Front-End operations, ensuring Customers receive a warm greeting, guidance on product locations, coordination with Associates, and effective traffic flow management.
- Direct on-floor work assignments and provide specific departmental training for all Associates.
- Participate in weekly department walks with the Sales and Service Manager (SSM) to evaluate the state of the business, create worklists aligned with Associates' strengths, and follow up on task execution.
- Maintain Front-End and Services merchandise at a premiere stock and visual level to drive sales and enhance the Customer experience.
- Ensure all Club Services and Front-End areas, equipment, and supplies are clean, organized, and operational.
- Consistently execute and maintain all Club Services and Front-End programs, promotions, and procedures.
- Perform basic club repair duties, including G&T App Management (creating orders, maintaining queue), retrieving BOPIS orders, processing trade-ins, handling Special Orders, answering Customer phone calls, executing Cleaning & Equipment Maintenance Checklist, re-gripping clubs, re-shafting clubs, club extensions and cut-downs, and Loft & Lie adjustments.
- Ensure compliance with all Loss Prevention policies and procedures to maintain store inventory accuracy and a safe workplace.
- Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
- Responsible for opening and closing the store at times without additional leadership presence, including cash handling, deposits, Customer escalation, opening/closing procedures, task direction, maintaining brand/merchandising standards, and ensuring Associate/Customer safety.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent; retail experience preferred.
- Strong listening and interpersonal skills, with good verbal and written communication abilities.
- Basic computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook.
- Ability to manage conflict, lead conflict resolution, and hold others accountable.
- Capability to quickly learn business acumen with appropriate training.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and allocate resources effectively.
- Leadership skills with a Servant Leadership approach, enforcing high standards of Customer service.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, climb ladders, move throughout the store, and lift a 30 lb. box overhead.
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.
Pay
$18.50 - $21.25 USD Hourly
Schedule
Must be able to work a flexible work week, including nights, weekends, and holidays depending on business needs.
