About the role

The Retail Associate ensures our customers have a positive shopping experience by maintaining a welcoming, safe, and organized store environment. Associates perform a variety of tasks across all store areas to support customer service and operational goals.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize safety by practicing safe behaviors, maintaining clear emergency exits, and reporting unsafe conditions immediately.
• Treat all customers and associates with respect, courtesy, and professionalism; greet customers warmly and assist them with purchases, questions, and issues.
• Perform cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, replenishing restroom supplies, and disinfecting high-touch areas.
• Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to the company dress code.
• Perform daily sizing and recovery tasks to ensure a neat, organized, and efficiently merchandised store.
• Expedite newly received merchandise to the sales floor, merchandising items according to company guidelines.
• Understand and follow loss prevention policies, including proper handling of out-of-stock merchandise and safeguarding confidential information.
• Follow all policies and procedures for cash, check, charge card, and refund transactions with accuracy and awareness.
• Demonstrate a sense of urgency to maximize productivity and efficiency in all tasks.
• Assist with additional tasks as needed to support store operations and customer service goals.

Requirements

• Effectively communicate with customers, associates, and leadership in a friendly and cooperative manner.
• Perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.

Qualifications

Physical Requirements

• Ability to use store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PCs.
• Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store for up to 100% of working time.
• Ability to regularly bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
• Ability to occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 pounds.
• Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other supplies.
• For stockroom shifts: Ability to regularly push, pull, and lift more than 20 pounds.
