Responsibilities
- Prioritize safety by practicing safe behaviors and maintaining a secure shopping environment for customers and associates.
- Treat all customers and associates with respect, courtesy, and professionalism; participate in company recognition programs.
- Assist customers with merchandise, answer questions, and operate registers; greet customers with eye contact, a smile, and a friendly demeanor.
- Respond promptly and efficiently to customer service needs, handling issues courteously and escalating to leadership when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and organized store by performing tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, replenishing restroom supplies, and disinfecting high-touch areas.
- Adhere to the company dress code and maintain a professional appearance at all times.
- Perform daily sizing, recovery, and merchandising tasks to ensure a neat, organized, and efficiently stocked store.
- Expedite the movement of newly received merchandise to the sales floor, merchandising items according to company guidelines and maintaining brand familiarity.
- Understand and follow loss prevention programs, including merchandise protection standards and Mark-Out-of-Stock (MOS) policies.
- Handle cash, check, charge card, and refund transactions accurately and securely, following all company policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate a sense of urgency and maximize productivity by executing store best practices and minimizing inefficiencies in workflow.
Qualifications and Skills
- Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with customers, associates, and leadership.
- Basic mathematical skills commonly used in retail environments.
- Competencies in managing work processes, business acumen, planning, collaboration, leadership, communication, and accountability.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to use store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PCs.
- Capability to stand, walk, and move around the store for up to 100% of working time.
- Regularly bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
- Occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 pounds.
- Use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
- For stockroom shifts: Ability to regularly push, pull, and lift more than 20 pounds.
