Responsibilities
- Prioritize safety by practicing safe behaviors and maintaining a secure shopping environment for customers and associates. Report or correct unsafe conditions immediately.
- Treat all customers and associates with respect, courtesy, and professionalism. Use company recognition programs to acknowledge fellow associates.
- Assist customers with register transactions, merchandise questions, and general inquiries in a polite and knowledgeable manner. Greet customers with eye contact, a smile, and a friendly demeanor.
- Respond promptly and efficiently to customer service calls, handling issues courteously and escalating to store leadership when necessary.
- Maintain a clean work area by performing tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters, replenishing restroom supplies, and disinfecting high-touch areas.
- Adhere to the company dress code and maintain a professional appearance at all times.
- Perform daily sizing and recovery tasks to ensure a neat, organized, and efficiently merchandised store.
- Expedite newly received merchandise to the sales floor, merchandising items according to company guidelines and maintaining brand familiarity.
- Understand and adhere to the Loss Prevention Awareness program, including shortage prevention and merchandise protection standards.
- Demonstrate integrity and honesty in all interactions, safeguarding confidential information, cash, credit card details, and merchandise.
- Follow Mark-Out-of-Stock (MOS) policies, including proper identification, processing, and disposal of MOS merchandise.
- Handle cash, check, charge card, and refund transactions accurately, following all company policies and procedures.
- Maximize productivity by executing store best practices and minimizing unnecessary steps in workflows.
Requirements
- Effectively communicate with customers, associates, and store leadership in a friendly, respectful, and cooperative manner.
- Perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
- Ability to use store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PCs.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store for up to 100% of working time.
- Regularly bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
- Occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 pounds.
- Use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
- For stockroom shifts: Ability to regularly push, pull, and lift more than 20 pounds.
