Retail Associate

About the Role

This position involves a variety of customer service, sales, cashiering, stocking, sorting, inventory management, sizing, color coordination, and cleaning activities in a retail store environment.

Responsibilities

• Receive donations: greet donors, accept and unload donated materials, enter customer general information into a smart device (such as a phone or tablet), and thank donors for their donated items.
• Processing: sort, separate, and hang clothing and household items. Sort, test, clean, and mark small appliances, housewares, shoes, seasonal items, and other assorted merchandise.
• Cashiering: conduct sales transactions and maintain control of cash and credit card transactions by following proper procedures for voids, discounts, refunds, checks, and credit card payments.
• Cleaning duties including but not limited to: bathrooms, floors, shelves, windows, break room, store fixtures, fitting rooms, dock area, store exterior, and merchandise counters. Report issues that require maintenance repairs.
• Customer service activities including but not limited to: customer assistance, pricing merchandise, fitting room assistance, offering recycling bags, explaining store operations, and other sales techniques that may enhance the store’s sales and community image.

Schedule

Able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
