Restorative Nursing Assistant (RNA)

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Aid residents with restorative exercises to improve or maintain mobility, strength, and independence.
• Encourage participation in activities and assist with out-of-bed mobility as needed.
• Assist with dining, splinting, transfers, ambulation, and range-of-motion exercises.
• Obtain and record resident weights, reporting significant changes to nursing staff.
• Ensure residents have clean, properly fitting clothing and linens.
• Provide assistance with activities of daily living such as toileting, bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene.
• Reposition residents to promote comfort and prevent skin breakdown.
• Maintain cleanliness, dignity, and personal appearance for residents.
• Participate in RNA meetings to monitor and adjust restorative programs.
• Complete accurate and timely documentation and charting.
• Maintain a positive, respectful, and therapeutic environment.
• Promptly report changes in resident condition, abnormal findings, or concerns.
• Assist with medical appointments, treatments, meals, and social activities.
• Support catheter care and proper cleaning of equipment.
• Promote skin integrity through proper care techniques and the application of pressure-relieving devices.
