Job Overview
The Restaurant Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the hotel’s restaurant, ensuring a high standard of service, efficiency, and guest satisfaction. This role involves managing a team of servers and bartenders, maintaining a clean and inviting environment, and ensuring that the bistro runs smoothly while upholding the hotel’s standards for quality and hospitality.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Supervise, train, and motivate staff to ensure excellent customer service.
- Assign duties to team members, monitor performance, and provide feedback and coaching.
- Conduct regular team meetings to communicate expectations, goals, and updates.
- Greet and assist guests as needed, ensuring a high level of guest satisfaction.
- Handle guest complaints and special requests in a professional and efficient manner.
- Monitor service delivery and ensure staff adhere to hotel standards for quality and hospitality.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, ensuring smooth service flow.
- Manage inventory and ensure stock levels are maintained, placing orders as necessary.
- Monitor food and beverage quality to ensure they meet hotel and health standards.
- Ensure all safety, cleanliness, and health regulations are adhered to by staff.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the bistro and dining areas.
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards and proper food handling procedures.
- Monitor and manage the restaurant's cash handling and point-of-sale transactions.
- Prepare reports on restaurant operations, sales, and guest feedback for management.
- Work closely with the hotel’s front desk and management teams to ensure seamless service for hotel guests.
Skills And Abilities
- A high school diploma or equivalent; a degree in hospitality or related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a hospitality or food and beverage environment.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of food and beverage service, health regulations, and safety standards.
Working Conditions & Physical Effort
- Physical work is a primary part of many of our hotel and resort jobs.
- Physical requirements include extended standing and walking, climbing, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, kneeling, and lifting to 50 lbs.
- Some work is performed in an interior hotel environment with equipment and machines.
- The work involves exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals, dirt, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
- The exposure to hazards or physical risks requires following basic safety precautions and use of applicable protective equipment.
