Job Overview

The Restaurant Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the hotel’s restaurant, ensuring a high standard of service, efficiency, and guest satisfaction. This role involves managing a team of servers and bartenders, maintaining a clean and inviting environment, and ensuring that the bistro runs smoothly while upholding the hotel’s standards for quality and hospitality.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supervise, train, and motivate staff to ensure excellent customer service.
  • Assign duties to team members, monitor performance, and provide feedback and coaching.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to communicate expectations, goals, and updates.
  • Greet and assist guests as needed, ensuring a high level of guest satisfaction.
  • Handle guest complaints and special requests in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Monitor service delivery and ensure staff adhere to hotel standards for quality and hospitality.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, ensuring smooth service flow.
  • Manage inventory and ensure stock levels are maintained, placing orders as necessary.
  • Monitor food and beverage quality to ensure they meet hotel and health standards.
  • Ensure all safety, cleanliness, and health regulations are adhered to by staff.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the bistro and dining areas.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards and proper food handling procedures.
  • Monitor and manage the restaurant's cash handling and point-of-sale transactions.
  • Prepare reports on restaurant operations, sales, and guest feedback for management.
  • Work closely with the hotel’s front desk and management teams to ensure seamless service for hotel guests.

Skills And Abilities

  • A high school diploma or equivalent; a degree in hospitality or related field is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a hospitality or food and beverage environment.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage service, health regulations, and safety standards.

Working Conditions & Physical Effort

  • Physical work is a primary part of many of our hotel and resort jobs.
  • Physical requirements include extended standing and walking, climbing, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, kneeling, and lifting to 50 lbs.
  • Some work is performed in an interior hotel environment with equipment and machines.
  • The work involves exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals, dirt, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
  • The exposure to hazards or physical risks requires following basic safety precautions and use of applicable protective equipment.
