About the role

Assist Food and Beverage leadership in delivering first-quality service while maintaining budgeted payroll and overhead costs. Work continuously to exceed budgeted Food and Beverage sales revenues.

Responsibilities

  • Approach all guest and employee interactions with attentiveness, friendliness, courtesy, and a service-oriented mindset.
  • Maintain regular attendance according to company standards and scheduling needs.
  • Uphold high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the proper uniform and name tag.
  • Comply with company standards and regulations to ensure safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Familiarize yourself with the organization of company hotels and the function of each department.
  • Assist Food and Beverage Management in maintaining food and beverage costs.
  • Maintain open communication with all employees, seeking input on food and beverage issues and acting as a motivating influence.
  • Monitor and follow up on servers' cash overages and shortages.
  • Maintain service standards using quality control instruments such as Standard of the Week and coaching sessions.
  • Immediately address accidents, problems, or guest complaints in the Food and Beverage Department.
  • Be familiar with and able to respond to emergency situations, including knowing fire extinguisher and exit locations.
  • Maintain consistent disciplinary actions for all Food and Beverage employees.
  • Be proficient with the hotel’s P.O.S. system.
  • Ensure employees are attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to guests, employees, and managers at all times.
  • Assist the Food and Beverage Manager with wage progress and productivity reports.
  • Assist in preparing staff schedules based on business forecasts, adhering to wage control, productivity standards, and guest service scores.
  • Assist in monthly food and beverage inventories and reconciliations.
  • Ensure all side work duties are completed by servers.
  • Assist the Food and Beverage Manager in developing promotional ideas.
  • Assist in planning and organizing monthly department meetings.
  • Initiate and promote sales efforts for all service personnel.
  • Assist the Food and Beverage Manager in preparing for and conducting employee performance appraisals.
  • Assist the Food and Beverage Manager and Food Production Manager in maintaining and improving the quality and presentation of all food products.
  • Attend weekly Food and Beverage meetings, daily pre-meal meetings, and other required meetings.
  • Perform any other duties as requested by management.
