Restaurant & Retail Associate - GCF
About the Role
Ghirardelli is seeking Retail Hourly Associates to merchandise, stock, and provide excellent guest service while selling our premium chocolate line. This role is ideal for high-energy, reliable individuals with a strong work ethic who can work all shifts, including nights and weekends. As a Chocolateer, you will represent the Ghirardelli brand and contribute to a world-class guest experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional guest service and manage cash handling and credit card processing procedures.
- Assemble proprietary retail items following recipe guidelines.
- Maintain adequate supply of retail products on the sales floor and in back stock.
- Ensure all products are appropriately priced, signed, and displayed per company standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and arrangement of the sales floor, products, and stockroom.
- Demonstrate detailed knowledge of all products, pricing, and company history to satisfy guest inquiries and create up-sell opportunities.
- Gift-wrap items for sale following company guidelines.
- Follow food safety guidelines and maintain cleanliness of table tops, serve ware, floors, and trash receptacles.
- Keep fountain and condiment supplies stocked and in good condition.
- Maintain guest and employee washing facilities in a clean and sanitary condition.
- Set up, maintain, and break down the fountain area, replenishing toppings and fountain items as needed.
- Minimize food waste and maintain proper levels of ice cream flavors.
- Work as a "Topper" or "Scooper" and perform "Semi-Table Service" functions for guest satisfaction.
- Maintain candy-making equipment and supplies, and follow all recipes accurately.
- Clean windows, mirrors, and maintain the overall appearance of the store.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years old.
- High school diploma preferred.
- Previous retail experience is desirable.
- Ability to work all shifts, including nights and weekends.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and professionalism in diverse team settings.
Skills
- Basic math computation skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work with little or no supervision.
- Time management and ability to handle adversity professionally.
- Ability to maintain a pleasant demeanor and provide superior guest service.
- Ability to operate a dishwashing machine.

Schedule
Store hours: Monday - Sunday, 9:00 AM - 10:00 PM. Shifts may extend up to 2 hours before or after store hours for prep and cleaning.
