About the role
The Restaurant Leader at the Greater Foods Group is responsible for running a profitable restaurant and ensuring it meets McDonald's critical customer standards of Quality, Service, and Cleanliness. This is a significant role requiring strategic leadership and collaboration with a team of Department Leaders.
Responsibilities
- Works with a leadership team to set and achieve restaurant goals.
- Learns and follows a Profit and Loss (P&L) statement to manage financial aspects.
- Executes labor controls and coaches the leadership team on these controls.
- Creates action plans, delegates tasks, and ensures their completion.
- Maintains succession plans and conducts one-on-one meetings to develop internal talent.
- Maintains a safe and compliant workplace environment.
- Communicates effectively and tracks goals.
- Manages by walking around (MBWA) to encourage the use of systems, standards, and routines.
- Leads strategically, sets business objectives, and takes corrective action if necessary.
- Owns the performance management process for the assigned unit.
- Trains employees on a culture of hospitality to ensure excellent guest service.
- Recruits for restaurant-level roles.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience as a General Manager in a hospitality setting, such as a restaurant, retail, hotel/hospitality.
- Ability to understand, analyze, and act on a P&L statement.
- Ability to execute labor controls and coach leadership teams.
- Ability to create action plans, delegate tasks, and follow up on their completion.
- Ability to manage succession plans and conduct one-on-one meetings.
- Ability to maintain a safe and compliant workplace environment.
- Effective communication and goal tracking abilities.
- Strategic leadership and ability to manage by walking around.
- Ownership mindset for the assigned unit.
- Compliance with brand standards, food safety, and workplace safety.
- Ability to lead employee-centric training programs.
