About the role

As a District Manager, you will lead and coach shop management to improve operations and maximize sales and profit. Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and developing General Managers
• Coaching and holding employees accountable for results
• Developing and executing the annual business plan
• Motivating and supporting shop management to achieve business goals
• Managing staff schedules and training
• Ensuring compliance with Potbelly standards and labor laws
• Improving customer service and satisfaction
• Optimizing shop potential and adjusting business plans

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• People Development: Ensure each shop has a great General Manager, continuously develop and train them, and develop bench at every level.
• Business Planning: Develop and execute the annual business plan for the market, ensuring proper execution of promotions and new product roll-outs.
• Sales and Profit: Foster positive energy in the work environment, hold managers accountable for results, and lead successful new shop openings.
• Physical Functions: Must have stamina to work 50+ hours a week, stand/walk for 9-10 hours per day, and manage several shops.
• Physical Abilities: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, work in both warm and cool environments, and tolerate potential allergens.

Requirements

Requirements include:

• Proven leadership experience, managing multiple units preferably within a rapidly growing retail or restaurant organization
• Track record of delivering results in a complex, fast-paced environment
• Strong work ethic and ability to grow other leaders
• Education and active learning skills
• Ability to solve problems and get things done correctly and on time
• Excellent communication skills, including active listening and the ability to ask great questions
• Pass a Food Safety Certification course (required in Illinois)
• Microsoft Office skills
