Position Overview
The Respite Services Program Manager is a first/midlevel management role responsible for implementing the organization’s mission, vision, and strategic priorities into actionable plans and measurable results. The Respite Services Program Manager partners closely with the Respite Services Program Director and the program staff to achieve an excellent standard of client care and staff support.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Training of new and existing staff in policy, procedures, and site-specific issues.
- Participates in hiring, orientation, and annual performance evaluations of program staff.
- Provides supervision and support to program staff, including weekly supervision and training.
- Works closely with the Residential Services Program Director to adhere to program budgets and needed supplies.
- Oversees documentation by clinical staff in collaboration with Quality Improvement/Management and performs periodic audits of charts to ensure adherence to licensing requirements.
- Participates in any mandatory Quality Improvement/Management review of program performance.
- Participates in the preparation for monitoring by regulatory and contracting agencies.
- Completes assigned grocery and other shopping for the programs assigned.
- Completes quarterly health and safety checks in assigned programs assigned.
- Monthly environmental care rounds in assigned programs assigned.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or a related field; and four (4) years of full-time work experience in a community mental health program; and at least twelve (12) months must be in a position of supervising direct care staff.
- Associate degree; and six (6) years of full-time work experience in a community mental health program with at least two (2) years of post-associate degree; and at least two (2) years of supervising direct care staff may be substituted.
- Demonstrated effective management and leadership skills with diverse populations.
- Demonstrate cultural competency while working with diverse populations on the issues of mental health, substance use, and HIV/AIDS in a social rehabilitation model.
- Ability to establish collaborative partnerships with supervisees, colleagues, and community organizations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of trauma-informed and other evidence based therapeutic principles/practices.
- Flexibility, adaptability, and ability to focus attention on workflow processes, procedures, budgetary guidelines, and documentation/productivity standards.
- Effective time management and ability to meet deadlines.
- Must be available to work flexible hours outside of assigned shifts occasionally – including possible days, swing, overnights and weekends.
- Proficiency with Microsoft products required.
- Exhibit exemplary customer service, compassion, and care in the execution of all duties and interactions.
