About the role
The Edinburg Center is seeking a Respite Counselor to assist mental health clients in avoiding unnecessary hospitalization or transitioning successfully from the hospital to community living.
Responsibilities
- Provide recovery-oriented psychosocial rehabilitation, advocacy, support and crisis prevention/intervention services to adults temporarily residing in a short term respite.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and at least 1 year experience with adult mental health population required OR High school diploma and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience will be considered.
- Experience in Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) model programs and knowledge of psychosocial rehabilitation preferred.
- First Aid, CPR, and MAP certification within three months of hire required.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
Qualifications
