Respite Counselor - Relief

About the role

The Respite Counselor works as part of a team in an acute care residence, providing guidance, education, supervision, and direct supports to help consumers maintain their physical and emotional health, live safely in the community, and develop skills for independent living.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance, education, supervision, and direct supports to consumers
• Work as part of a team to stabilize consumers in crisis or situational situations
• Support consumers in maintaining physical and emotional health
• Coordinate care and treatment planning for consumers with mental health, substance use disorder, and co-occurring disorders

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• One year of experience or three years of related experience
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
• Basic computer fluency, including Microsoft Office

• Ability to communicate in and comprehend the English language
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Ability to work as a member of a team and to function independently
• Valid driver’s license, safe driving record, and regular access to a reliable vehicle

Pay

• $21.21/hour for High School Diploma
• $22.27/hour with a Bachelor’s Degree

Schedule

• Relief 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts available
• Evening and Weekend Differential: additional $1 hourly
• Overnight Differential: additional $2 hourly
