RESPIRATORY THERAPY MANAGER

About the role

The CRT (Certified Respiratory Therapist) is specially trained and experienced in respiratory care, qualified to perform therapeutic and diagnostic procedures as ordered by the attending physician. These procedures pertain to the care of patients with abnormalities and deficiencies associated with respiration.

Responsibilities

• Perform all modalities of respiratory care offered at Clara Barton Hospital.
• Read and evaluate physicians' orders and patients' chart information to determine patients' condition and treatment protocols.
• Keep records of patients' therapy, completing all necessary forms.
• Assess patients in a clinical setting and monitor their response to treatments, modifying treatments according to protocol if necessary.
• Explain treatment procedures to patients.
• Set up equipment controls to regulate the flow of oxygen, gases, or aerosols.
• Notify physician of changes in patient status or clarify incomplete or unclear orders.
• Perform daily work routines including oxygen rounds, therapy, daily charges, charting, and pulmonary function tests.
• Clean, sterilize, check, and maintain respiratory therapy equipment; follow and enforce safety rules applying to equipment.
• Perform data input into Oracle Health system regarding patient care.
• Provide oversight of other respiratory staff.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Reports to the Chief Operations Officer, Medical Director, and President/CEO of Clara Barton Hospital.
