Schedule: Full Time

Compensation: Based off of experience. Sign-on bonus: $12,000.00

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the respiratory therapy department, including staff interviews, employment decisions, orientation, performance evaluations, employee training and development, as well as inventory, equipment, and instrument issues.
  • Share responsibility for employee engagement, recruitment, and retention.
  • Implement company standards of care, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure all regulatory requirements are met regarding respiratory and point of care.
  • Create and maintain a clinical schedule for safe staffing.
  • Maintain clinical cost control.
  • Coordinate and actively participate in Wean Team/Pulmonary Rounds and maintain a direct line of communication with pulmonary physicians to facilitate, implement, and routinely monitor weaning patients from mechanical ventilation. If protocols do not exist, work toward site-specific protocol implementation.
  • Steer progressive clinical excellence through staff development while promoting continuous quality improvement.
  • Teach and counsel patients and their families.
  • Maintain competency in Rapid Response and code events.
  • Site-Dependent: Function as Moderate Complexity Lab Manager over point of care testing and function as the Safety Officer, overseeing the Environment of Care.

Requirements

  • Current State License.
  • Active Registered Respiratory Therapist Credential (RRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • Proof of graduation required: college transcript/diploma (preferred) or high school transcript/diploma or GED.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by start date.
  • ACLS within 6 months of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Five years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist in an Acute Care setting.
  • Two years of supervisory experience.
