Responsibilities
- Provides introductory education and training to all new employees.
- Develops continuing education for the staff.
- Plans and coordinates training activities utilizing adult learning principles.
- Develops and designs appropriate behavioral objectives, lesson plans, teaching tools, training schedules, testing methodology and evaluation tools.
- Develops self-study modules for orientation and yearly competencies.
- Modifies education programs based on evaluation data.
Quality
- Maintains accreditation status as a provider and sponsor of high-quality nursing continuing education activities.
- Maintains appropriate documentation of educational records and statistics.
- Develops and evaluates competency-based performance criteria.
- Promotes the quality and efficiency of performance by staying current with healthcare trends.
- Participates in job-related seminars, workshops, conferences, and affiliations with professional organizations.
Collaboration & Partnership
- Promotes and maintains effective communications with all departments within the organization.
- Affords staff opportunities to identify their learning needs and plan learning activities.
- Assists staff in planning learning activities based on technical, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills.
Qualifications
- Experience: 2 years clinical experience OR Bachelor's Degree and 4 years clinical experience.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree OR 4 years clinical experience.
- Special Skills: Good oral & written communication, interpersonal, critical thinking, organizational, time management, and public speaking skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office systems.
- License/Certification: Registered Respiratory Therapist.
