Respiratory Therapy Educator

About the Role

The Respiratory Educator (RE) utilizes innovation, flexible solutions, evidence-based practice, and effective operations to establish an environment that transforms professional growth, role competence, and proficiency in team members' specialty.

Responsibilities

• Develops innovative learning approaches for coordination, facilitation, conduction, and evaluation of orientation, competency, and in-service programs
• Creates and implements continuing education based on needs assessment
• Provides education/training on all new equipment and validates each staff member on use
• Participates in the development of specialty and generic Respiratory policies/procedures
• Collaborates with hospital-based education specialists for organizational needs and support
• Mentors team members to focus on professional growth and development
• Performs normal duties as a staff Respiratory Therapist during times of no scheduled education and training or as operational needs require

Requirements

• Associate's degree in respiratory therapy program and Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare field required
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in all aspects of Respiratory Care
• Prior teaching experience preferred
• NBRC certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is required
• Demonstrated project management experience required
