Respiratory Therapist RRT - Part Time - Nights

About the role

The Respiratory Therapist - RRT position at Highland Park Hospital offers an attractive sign-on bonus of $10,000. The hourly pay range is $33.16 - $49.74, determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapy to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients as ordered by physicians according to hospital policy and procedures.
• Assess patients to determine the most suitable method of administering treatment.
• Document treatment, equipment maintenance and quality control activities and transcribe verbal or phone orders by physicians.
• Communicate to patient and family the treatment being performed in a clear manner.
• Monitor patient physiological response to therapy with special attention to the pediatric and neonatal patients.
• Provide patient and staff education.

Requirements

• Licensed by the State of Illinois as a Respiratory Care Practitioner, required.
• Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of respiratory therapy, required.
• CPR (BLS) issued by American Heart Association, required.
• 6 months experience in a health care setting preferred; 1 year of adult critical care experience, neonatal or adult, preferred.

Schedule

• 8 or 12 hour shifts available from 7:00pm to 7:30am and 11:00pm - 7:30am.
• Every other weekend rotation and holidays required.
