Respiratory Therapist - Part Time Nights

About the role

The Respiratory Therapist II provides advanced respiratory care in critical settings, including ventilator management, airway procedures, and arterial blood gas analysis. They assess and collaborate with healthcare teams to develop patient care plans, educate patients and staff, and ensure safety and quality standards. The role involves independent decision-making, protocol adherence, and participation in performance improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced respiratory care in critical settings, including ventilator management and airway procedures
• Perform arterial blood gas analysis
• Assess patients and collaborate with healthcare teams to develop care plans
• Educate patients and staff on respiratory care practices
• Ensure adherence to safety and quality standards
• Exercise independent decision-making and follow established protocols
• Participate in performance improvement initiatives
• Support new staff and participate in invasive procedures
• Promote evidence-based practices

Requirements

• Completion of an accredited respiratory therapy program
• Associate’s degree (bachelor’s degree preferred)
• 0–2 years of clinical experience, with at least 6 months in critical care

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• Instructor and provisional statuses as specified
