Respiratory Therapist - Part Time Nights

Role Overview

The Respiratory Therapist II provides advanced respiratory care, including medication administration, ventilator management, airway procedures, and patient assessment in critical care settings. They deliver personalized patient education, mentor staff, and collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure safe, high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments and administer therapies such as aerosols, oxygen, and mechanical ventilation.
• Manage ventilators, interpret waveforms, and handle airway devices like intubation and tracheostomy care.
• Conduct arterial blood gas sampling and analysis.
• Educate patients and support staff, participate in procedures, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
• Promote safety, documentation accuracy, and evidence-based practices.
• Support team environment and foster positive relationships.
• Adhere to organizational policies and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

• Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program with science coursework; Associate's degree required, Bachelor's preferred.
• 0-2 years of clinical experience, including at least 6 months in critical care.
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and computer skills.
• Necessary licensure and certifications: Registered Respiratory Therapist, BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, with instructor certifications preferred.
