Respiratory Therapist RRT / CRT

About the Role

The Respiratory Therapist administers therapeutic gases, ventilator support, and various respiratory treatments. They perform procedures such as chest physiotherapy, intubation, arterial line insertions, mini-BALs, and CPR. The role involves conducting patient assessments, monitoring therapy effectiveness, collaborating with the care team, and documenting patient data.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapies and treatments
• Perform critical interventions (e.g., intubation, arterial line insertions, mini-BALs, CPR)
• Assess patient needs and monitor treatment outcomes
• Collaborate with the care team to support optimal patient care
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient data

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Care
• 1–3 years of experience in respiratory care
• Maryland RCP licensure
• NBRC RRT credential (must obtain within 1 year of hire)
• CPR certification (mandatory)
• ACLS and PALS certifications (required within 1 year of hire)
• Basic knowledge equivalent to a bachelor’s degree
• Familiarity with respiratory procedures
