Responsible for delivering complex respiratory care, medication administration, and patient assessments in critical care settings.
Responsibilities
- Provides high-quality patient care
- Collaborates with healthcare teams
- Manages ventilators and performs airway procedures
- Conducts arterial blood gas analysis
- Provides patient education and mentors staff and students
- Participates in invasive and non-invasive procedures and pulmonary diagnostics
- Promotes patient safety and accurate documentation
- Adheres to evidence-based practices and organizational policies
- Supports performance improvement initiatives
- Assists in invasive procedures
- Supports patient and family education
- Fosters a team-oriented environment
- Ensures compliance with safety standards
- Promotes quality improvement
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program with at least 20 quarter hours of science
- Licensure and certifications: NBRC-RRT, RCP, BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP
- 0-2 years of clinical experience, with a minimum of 6 months in critical care
Skills
- Excellent communication and critical thinking
- Strong patient assessment abilities
- Proficiency in computer skills
- Ability to establish professional relationships
