About the Role
The Respiratory Therapist II provides advanced respiratory care, including medication administration, ventilator management, and patient assessment, primarily in critical care settings.
Responsibilities
- Deliver patient-centered care and collaborate with healthcare teams
- Verify orders and perform invasive and non-invasive procedures
- Educate patients and staff on respiratory care practices
- Ensure high-quality, safe, and evidence-based practices
- Promote accurate documentation and support performance improvement initiatives
- Assess patients and collaborate on care planning
- Manage ventilators and perform arterial blood gas sampling
- Assist with procedures and mentor new staff and students
- Comply with policies and promote a safe, quality environment
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited respiratory therapy program with at least 20 quarter hours of science
- Hold NBRC-RRT, RCP, BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications
- 0-2 years of clinical experience, including critical care
Skills
- Strong communication and critical thinking
- Proficiency in computer skills
- Ability to establish effective relationships with healthcare professionals
