The Respiratory Therapist II plays a key role in delivering complex respiratory care, primarily in critical care settings.
Responsibilities
- Patient assessment
- Medication administration
- Ventilator management
- Airway procedures
- Arterial blood gas analysis
- Educate patients and support staff
- Participate in procedures
- Promote a safe, high-quality environment aligned with evidence-based practices
- Support staff development
- Adhere to organizational policies to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Requirements
- Associate degree in respiratory therapy (bachelor’s degree preferred)
- 0-2 years of clinical experience, including at least 6 months in critical care
Qualifications
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Respiratory Care Professional certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Instructor credentials
