About the role
The Respiratory Therapist II provides advanced respiratory care, including medication administration, ventilator management, and patient assessments, primarily in critical care settings. They deliver high-quality, patient-centered care, educate patients and staff, and participate in procedures, testing, and performance improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Administer aerosolized medications, manage ventilators, perform airway procedures, and analyze blood gases.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams for comprehensive patient care and education.
- Ensure patient safety, accurate documentation, and adherence to policies.
- Support staff development, mentor students, and promote evidence-based practices.
- Participate in invasive/non-invasive procedures and pulmonary diagnostics.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program; associate's degree required, bachelor's preferred.
0-2 years of clinical experience, with at least 6 months in critical care.
Current licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist and Respiratory Care Professional.
Skills
- Certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and instructor certifications are required.
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills, with proficiency in computer use.
