Respiratory Therapist - Occasional - Variable Shift

Role Summary

The Respiratory Therapist provides respiratory care services under supervision, following physician orders and department policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed respiratory treatments with care and attention to patient needs.
• Verify and clarify orders, respond to therapy outcomes, and adjust treatments as necessary.
• Collect information for assessments, recommendations, and treatments.
• Document patient assessments, treatments, and education accurately.
• Instruct patients and utilize educational materials appropriately.
• Ensure respiratory equipment is properly set up and functioning, reporting discrepancies.
• Interpret ABG values and communicate findings to physicians, suggesting improvements.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA-approved school or NBRC certified/registered.
• Preferred 3-5 years hospital experience.
• Current NYS respiratory therapist license and BLS/CPR certification.

Pay

$34 to $50 per hour.

Variable shifts.
