About the role

The Respiratory Therapist II delivers complex respiratory care, primarily in critical care settings. The role emphasizes independent decision-making, collaboration with healthcare teams, and mentoring new staff and students.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments and manage ventilators
• Conduct airway procedures and administer medications
• Provide patient education
• Promote accurate documentation, patient safety, and evidence-based practices
• Support a positive team environment
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives
• Adhere to all policies and standards

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program with at least 20 quarter hours of science
• Associate’s degree (bachelor’s preferred)
• 0–2 years of clinical experience with a minimum of 6 months in critical care

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification
• Respiratory Care Professional certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
