RESPIRATORY THERAPIST 12 hour shifts available

Responsibilities

• Makes decisions within the scope of respiratory care and makes appropriate recommendations to the responsible physician.
• Responsible for the respiratory care rendered to all residents.
• Fulfills policy and clinical procedures in respiratory care as ordered by the responsible physician.
• Knowledge of dementia population and dealing with related behaviors.
• Able to recognize when a resident is in pain and take appropriate actions.
• Provides short and/or long-term support of patients having increased chronic or acute respiratory difficulty by providing respiratory modalities, as per physician orders.

Requirements

• Licensed by the NYS Department of Education as a Respiratory Therapist and Registered (RRT).
• Prior experience with mechanical ventilation and weaning procedures is preferred.
• 1-3 years of previous experience is preferred.
