Provides non-critical respiratory care, including aerosol therapy, chest physical therapy, and oximetry evaluations.
Responsibilities
- Administers therapies
- Performs Basic Life Support activities
- Educates patients and their families on respiratory care
- Maintains equipment and supplies
- Executes non-invasive respiratory procedures under supervision of a licensed Respiratory Therapist
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an AMA-approved respiratory care program with at least one completed semester
- Maintains active student status
- Submits a recommendation letter from the Program Director
Experience & Certifications
- Completed a student respiratory floor therapy rotation
- Holds BCLS certification upon hire
- ACLS certification after the second semester or within 60 days
Skills
- Knowledge of respiratory care procedures
