Respiratory Technician, PRN

About the Role

Assists in administering aerosol therapy, chest physical therapy, and oximetry evaluations to non-critical patients under supervision. Performs Basic Life Support activities and educates patients and their families on respiratory care procedures. Responsible for cleaning, assembling, setting up, and maintaining respiratory equipment and supplies.

Responsibilities

• Perform non-invasive respiratory care procedures as directed by a licensed Respiratory Therapist.
• Teach and demonstrate respiratory care activities to patients and their representatives.
• Maintain and ensure proper functioning of respiratory equipment.

Requirements

• Enrollment in an AMA-approved respiratory care program with at least one completed semester; active student status required.
• Must have completed a student respiratory floor therapy rotation.
• Certification in BCLS required; ACLS within 60 days of hire or after completing the second semester of the program.
• Letter of recommendation from Program Director required for employment consideration.
