About Corewell Health Grosse Pointe Hospital

Corewell Health Beaumont Grosse Pointe Hospital is a 280-bed acute care campus located in the heart of Grosse Pointe. Opened in 1945 by the Sisters of Bon Secours, it was acquired by Beaumont Health System in October 2007. The hospital offers medical, surgical, emergency, obstetric, and critical care services. In March 2012, the Cotton Family Birth Center was designated a Baby-Friendly® birth center by Baby-Friendly USA. The hospital is also home to The James and Patricia Anderson Surgical Center, a leading-edge, hybrid surgical suite offering advanced learning, technological advancements, and a wide array of procedures ranging from traditional to minimally invasive approaches.

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of their assigned preceptor and/or the license of their Supervisor, the Respiratory Therapy graduate:

  • Implements and evaluates diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory services to assist physicians in the diagnosis and management of patients with cardiopulmonary and related disorders.
  • Participates in the education of patients.
  • Provides technical support for all equipment related to the practice of Respiratory Care.
  • Assists patients of all ages with acute and chronic illness in returning to a productive lifestyle.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy.
  • State of Michigan Respiratory Therapist License within 90 days of hire.
  • Respiratory Therapist Registry (CRT) certification from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) within 90 days of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) upon hire.
