Respiratory Student Extern

About the role

The Respiratory Therapy (RT) Extern provides patient treatment within the various common modalities of respiratory care under the supervision of a Licensed Respiratory Therapist. Assists staff by caring for patients, in accordance with the RT Extern’s skills/training and the needs of the department, performing clerical tasks and duties as assigned. Supports and promotes quality care and customer service initiatives by demonstrating competency, knowledge/skills and adhering to HCA Florida Memorial Hospital, related policies and procedures, Code of Conduct and Mission/Value Statement.

Requirements

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree
• Currently enrolled and in good standing in an accredited school obtaining degree in Respiratory Therapy and completed one semester

No travel required.
