About the Role
Assists in the planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of operations and patient care in the respiratory care department. Serves as a clinical resource to staff and patients. Functions as a staff member in the department as needed. Performs direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory therapy according to physicians' orders. Assumes managerial duties delegated by the Supervisor, Manager, and/or Director. Assesses and evaluates employees' responsibilities in a manner consistent with Corporate Values.
Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate department operations and patient care
- Serve as a clinical resource to staff and patients
- Perform direct patient care in respiratory therapy per physicians' orders
- Assume delegated managerial duties
- Assess and evaluate employee responsibilities
- Support staff scheduling, clinical education, preceptorship, department operations, quality improvement, performance improvement, and accreditation processes
Requirements
- Graduate from an Accredited College Program in Respiratory Care
- Current state license in the state of practice
- One year of experience as a respiratory therapist in a hospital setting
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care
- Current BLS certification
- Current ACLS for Adult areas; NRP/PALS if working Neonatal/Pediatric areas
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 3-5 years of RRT experience
- Trained in ICU, NICU, PICU, ED, CORE areas or willingness to be trained
