Respiratory Care Coordinator - Night shift

About the role

Serves as a clinical resource to staff and patients in the respiratory care department. Functions as a staff member in the department as needed. Performs direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory therapy according to physicians' orders. Assumes managerial duties delegated by the Supervisor, Manager and/or Director.

Responsibilities

• Assesses and evaluates employees' responsibilities in a manner consistent with Corporate Values.
• Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with Mercy's mission, values, and Service Standards.
• Assists in the planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of the operations and patient care in the respiratory care department.
• Performs direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory therapy according to physicians' orders.
• Assumes managerial duties delegated by the Supervisor, Manager and/or Director.

Requirements

• Graduate from an Accredited College Program in Respiratory Care.
• Must have a current license in the state of practice.
• One year as a respiratory therapist in a hospital setting.
• Registered as a therapist by the National Board of Respiratory Care (RRT).
• BLS certification.
• Must be current in ACLS for Adult areas and NRP/PALS if working Neonatal/Pediatric areas.

Qualifications

• Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree.
• Preferred Experience: 3-5 years RRT.
• Trained in all areas (ICU, NICU, PICU, ED, CORE) or willing to be trained.
